I remember the day I took the photo that was used for reference, I was still using a film camera and all I could think was wow what a waste of money this is going to be. I got back the roll and yep nothing! But this photo kept calling out to me and years later I attempted to paint it. The perspective was all wrong yet I knew I just had to try. Not only that I always painted small and well why not if I am going to attempt to paint something so off why not go big at the same time. The original is 24 x 36 the largest painting I have done.
This was a keeper, it has hung on my walls ever since. I have decided that it would be ok to sell now, I have enjoyed it and maybe its time for someone else. With that in mind I took it to the last arts and crafts show I did. It was a huge success, no I did not sell the painting but I sold every print I had of it and was wishing I had made more. Is brought people into the booth just to take a closer look, it put smiles on everyone face that walked by there was a lot of finger pointing. One young man ran from his mom into the booth and he stood there looking up at it and at the top of his lungs yelled “you have a huge face” there was silence for about 2 seconds then snickers all around.
Because bigger is better with this piece I am listing the 11 X 14 print of this. And because this is Tuesday’s Art I am going to sell it for $25.00 !! Unbelievable right!! And if that’s not enough for you I am also going to throw in a note card of the same image or one I have altered adding a “balloon” to the image so you can write in your own message, how fun is that.
If you are a horse lover this is the print for you, if you have a horse lover on your list trust me that person will love love love this print.
