Donkey mixed media wall vase

Donkey mixed media wall vase, measures about 5,1/4 x 9, 9/3x about 7/8 thick excluding the bottle vase and metal holder. This is a bottle from under my house, its 100 years old !I recommend dried or fake flowers but if you insist on using real flowers keep in mind that the back ground is not waterproof !
$35.00 shipping $10.00

I have attached a key hole hanger to the back , all you need do is place a screw in your wall adjust the depth and your wall vase will lay flush with your wall.
Why is my bottle vase cloudy or dirty looking, its been under my house for 100 years what do you expect! No really, its called “sick glass” once the elements get to glass like this there is no undoing it. But do know that its been cleaned and sanitized so no worries there. It adds to the charm thats why I am using them.

Push Me Pull Me wall vase

Push me Pull me mixed media wall vase, measures about 8,1/2 x 5 x about 7/8 thick excluding the bottle vase and metal holder. This is a new vase and not one from under my house, does not come with flowers. I recommend dried or fake flowers but if you insist on using real flowers keep in mind that the back ground is not waterproof !

Mixed media Halloween wall vase

This is a fun one, a take on my under the house wall vases. I decided to see if I could use a vase that I bought at a local store in order to teach a class, I don’t want to use my own vases, a little selfish I admit but.., and this is the results. I even filled the vase with silver stones from the graveyard and in the process scooped up a few eyes that were wandering. The lip of the vase is taped but that’s just for shipping, yes sorry this piece has sold but I will attempt to make a few more this week.

Silver rescue C0yote

This is my first attempt with Yupo paper. I loved painting this but its very different as the paper dose not absorb the paints. I think there will be a learning curve with this new surface. This piece sold but watch out for more.

Chance the Rescue Dog

This portrait is of chance a rescue dog, who by the way still needs a good home, just saying. Well he lost his tail because of his accident but even so he is still a very proud and wonderful animal. This is an 8 x 10 acrylic on hardboard. $180.00

Fairy Vase

Here is a sweet fairy from my bottles under the house series, really must come up with a better name. Well anyway this is a small piece and even tho its a “vase” I made it with a perfume bottle so only a small amount of “flowers” can be used. Having said that I think its all it needs. It comes with the flowers you see but they can be switched to anything you may have that has more meaning to you.

In the making of this piece I used polymer clay, a stencil for the fairy, paint, wood for the base, and of course a perfume bottle from under my house. The sides are painted gold and it has a recessed hanger on the back so it will be flush on your wall. This is small so it would also sit nicely on an easel.

Under the house wall vases

One never knows what treasure you will find when you buy an old house, for us it was hundreds and hundreds of pounds of broken glass under the house. Yicks, you might say, as we did, but among those hundred’s of pounds of broken glass we also found many unbroken bottles. We had a few ideas as to what we could do with them but nothing seemed very exciting. How do we show off the bottles how do we share the history that goes with them.

The result of that search is the creation of my mixed media wall vases. Each one is made by hand using many different materials, and of course a vintage bottle from under my house.

A little history about the bottles told to us by the former owners
When they bought the place they discovered a hole in the floor, not having any idea why it was there they just ignored it until one day they needed to get under the house. A hole was cut in the floor, big enough for a worker to get under there, that was when they discovered the bottles and broken glass. They then put two and two together, for many many years after they moved in they found liquor bottled all over the property and had heard story’s about the old farmer who liked to drink. Well apparently when he drank in the fields he just threw the empty bottle on the ground but when he drank in the house he threw it under the house !

I did a little more research and learned that way back when it was very common for farmers to throw there bottles and such in holes on there property’s. Most just threw them in there outhouses ( if you want to find old bottles learn were farmers had there outhouses and start digging.) since most of what we found were, poison, medicine and household bottles it stands to reason that’s why they were there. But I will agree with the other people about the drinking as there is also cigaret burn marks in the floor and its a much more colorful story!.

Why is my glass bottle cloudy in spots. Well that’s what is called “sick glass”\ there are many reasons for this happening but I would say in this case its from being under the house for 100 years. But rest assured your bottle has been cleaned and sanitized so no worries its just part of the charm.

Mosaic Mixed Media Mirror WINE THEME

Another wine themed mosaic piece, this time its a mirror, ready to hang in your home or vineyard. Each tile is hand made, hand painted, I then fit them together perfectly There are over 80 tiles each different and special.

The mirror measures about
    outside dimensions of frame 15 x 38

    mirror opening 7 x 28
the Chanel for the tiles is about 2 ¾ wide.

Most tiles are made from polymer clay, they are embellished with paint, and found objects. The frame is a recycled mirror I found in a thrift store. Hours of love have gone into this piece, I am really tempted to keep this but since I already have a wined theme mosaic in my wine tasting room I really want to offer this to you.

This one of a kind mosaic mirror is $500.00 plus shipping and packing. I don’t usually charge to box up a piece but this will need to be done through UPS and I am going to have them take care of everything.

Want a smaller mosaic, or perhaps you own very special theme just give me a yell it would be a pleasure to work with you.

This piece has sold but custom orders are welcome.

Happy New Year!!

Welcome 2012 !! I was trying to think of what I could do for all my art loving friends and I thought why not have a wonderful sale!! So trying to decide what art, prints, originals, cards or clay items I should put on sale I came up with a great idea! I will put one new item on sale every week! All year long!! So every Tuesday I will list an item at a reduced price, the sale will last for the week then go back to the original price.

For now the sale of the week item will be on my fb page, listed on the blog on etsy and in the news letter. That’s a lot of places so in the event of an original if you are interested you had better grab it. For prints you have the whole week to decide as I can print as they are ordered.

Unfortunately shipping costs keep going up, but the good news is I will continue to ship items for just $5.00 not sure how long I can keep doing that but not to worry right now its just $5.00.

I am also working on fine art note cards, mini giclee prints suitable for framing. I will be using the same inks as all of the full size prints so when you send a card you are sending a gift. The cards are a huge 5 1/2 x 7 3/8 and can be trimmed to fit a 5 x 7 ready made frame. The price on these cards will be $5.00 not bad for a mini giclee print, cheaper than most store bought cards! Shipping on the cards will be $1.00 for 1 or many!
