MOOOOO Cow

Just finished my first ever cow painting! I have been wanting to paint these guys for awhile now and finally had a chance to take some photos. One of my neighbors took me on a tour of his farm so I could photograph them I think I was able to get enough reference shots to paint a few more. May have to go back and visit , I had a great time. Not titled yet but I am leaning towards “Kathy” hi Kathleen, lol

Tuesday Art 1/17/12

Good morning It was a long weekend for some making today your Monday but cheer up it’s a short work week and its Tuesday, you know what that means, Tuesday Art....

What have I got for you today, well, I decided to offer a photograph, I will try and do this once a month not because I think of myself as a photographer but because sometimes I get lucky and get a shot worth sharing. You know how much I love horses I like them big, small, white, black, fast, well you get it I like horses and you know what I even like sea horses, did you see that coming? I love this print its 5 x 7 looks terrific framed and an ideal piece for your bathroom or any small nook you may have in your home. Don’t forget prints look great sitting on a desk or bookshelves so no matter what you have space for this . Its printed on an 8 ½ x 11 archival paper, like all my prints it’s a giclee but unlike many photos I printed it on matt paper, I really like that look so I went with it.

Tuesday's Art

Happy Tuesday I am pleased to bring you another awesome Tuesday Art deal. Today I am listing “Are you Talking To Me”. Every horse lover out there has seen this pose, you may even own a horse like this , just so in your face.


I remember the day I took the photo that was used for reference, I was still using a film camera and all I could think was wow what a waste of money this is going to be. I got back the roll and yep nothing! But this photo kept calling out to me and years later I attempted to paint it. The perspective was all wrong yet I knew I just had to try. Not only that I always painted small and well why not if I am going to attempt to paint something so off why not go big at the same time. The original is 24 x 36 the largest painting I have done.


This was a keeper, it has hung on my walls ever since. I have decided that it would be ok to sell now, I have enjoyed it and maybe its time for someone else. With that in mind I took it to the last arts and crafts show I did. It was a huge success, no I did not sell the painting but I sold every print I had of it and was wishing I had made more. Is brought people into the booth just to take a closer look, it put smiles on everyone face that walked by there was a lot of finger pointing. One young man ran from his mom into the booth and he stood there looking up at it and at the top of his lungs yelled “you have a huge face” there was silence for about 2 seconds then snickers all around.

Because bigger is better with this piece I am listing the 11 X 14 print of this. And because this is Tuesday’s Art I am going to sell it for $25.00 !! Unbelievable right!! And if that’s not enough for you I am also going to throw in a note card of the same image or one I have altered adding a “balloon” to the image so you can write in your own message, how fun is that.

Ok here are the details

The image is about 5" squared printed on an 8 ½ X 11 paper, this will fit easily into any document frame or the paper can be trimmed to fit smaller sizes. You can even trim to the image for a 5 x 5 photo frame and being a former picture framer I have to say custom framed this would be incredible.

The card measures about 5 ½ by 7 3/8 and can be trimmed to fit a 5 x 7 not only that its arcival and will last as long as the print! And who ever receive your card will know they are special because I have printed on the back a message that will let them know not only is the card a piece of art but that they are very special as well.

Sale price on the print is a very low $6.00 I will never sell at this price again pluss a not card that retailes for $5.00

Welcome 2012 !! I was trying to think of what I could do for all my art loving friends and I thought why not have a wonderful sale!! So trying to decide what art, prints, originals, cards or clay items I should put on sale I came up with a great idea! I will put one new item on sale every week! All year long!! So every Tuesday I will list an item at a reduced price, the sale will last for the week then go back to the original price.

For now the sale of the week item will be on my fb page, listed on the blog on etsy and in the news letter. That’s a lot of places so in the event of an original if you are interested you had better grab it. For prints you have the whole week to decide as I can print as they are ordered.

Unfortunately shipping costs keep going up, but the good news is I will continue to ship items for just $5.00 not sure how long I can keep doing that but not to worry right now its just $5.00.

I am also working on fine art note cards, mini giclee prints suitable for framing. I will be using the same inks as all of the full size prints so when you send a card you are sending a gift. The cards are a huge 5 1/2 x 7 3/8 and can be trimmed to fit a 5 x 7 ready made frame. The price on these cards will be $5.00 not bad for a mini giclee print, cheaper than most store bought cards! Shipping on the cards will be $1.00 for 1 or many!
